WARTBURG LUTHERAN FOUNDATION NAMES FAIRFIELD, CT., RESIDENT PRESIDENT

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Sept. 2010 – The Wartburg Lutheran Foundation has named Roger Dow president. 

The Fairfield, Conn., resident, will develop and direct the Foundation, which will raise money to support Wartburg Lutheran Services, an organization that runs nine senior-care facilities in New York State.

Dow comes to WLF from The Wartburg Foundation at the Wartburg Adult Care Community in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., where he was vice president. He has also worked at the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Foundation as a gift-planning counselor, and as a district representative for Aid Association for Lutherans, now called Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a fraternal organization. He had a previous career in sales before fundraising.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Plymouth State University, Plymouth, N.H., and is certified as a fund-raising executive.

Dow chairs the Retention Task Force for the Association of Lutheran Development Executives, and is president of the Big East Chapter. He was also president of the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Western Connecticut Chapter, and is an adviser to the Chapter Leadership Board.

He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, Conn., where he is congregational president, chairman of the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees, and a Sunday school teacher.
